Went for breakfast with my precious darling weijie today...It has been a great journey growing up with this bubbly girl *ms chatterbox..haha* We've been neighbours for like 8 years going on 9...though we dont hang around with each other very often, but i know deep within our hearts,we meant a great deal to each other. She's my confidant,my company whenever i am bored, and my listener. We had prata for breakfast before we headed down to our old place to take pictures of the place we spent our childhood at.
Clementi Ave 4 Blk 312 #12-207 has been the address i give out to people for the past 17 years of my life, way integrated in my heart..Today,i was totally devasted to see the disintegrated state of our blocks and the surrounding environment. It was like an abandoned estate, lacking of life...it was bare. Our 'birdshit playground' was sealed with green fences...as well as our blocks.I...couldnt touch and feel our playground for the last time..It was just yesterday where i had this party when i was in nursery, and we all were let out to play at the playground. You must be wondering how it got its name.Well..as we hung out at the playground,we realised that it was a sanitary area for the birds living nearby..Despite that,we enjoyed playing on the slides and jumping off from the 2nd level of the playground onto the hard sand.'Mirror catching' was one of the games we came up with while playing there...'gooey' too,was a game we used to play at the stairs on her block...
We walked on,and noticed that the clementi park we used to hang out was in pretty bad shape too..Moss were growing out of the sand on the playgrounds (1st,2nd and 3rd playground they were named). We climbed up the slope of the 2nd playground, and memories from the past seemed to be flashing back..*sobs*...Why must this happen to me!Cant they keep some of my memories back? Its tough enough to accept the fact that my block is going to be pulled down some time later, but cant they spare the surrounding environment?!
what we could have been, 9:06 PM.
I had the greatest shock this year today....!Here it goes...i was walking home from the interchange today, and was pretty pissed off with this man in front of me, taking his own sweet time to walk as if the whole street was his..*grumbles* Anyway,as i was walking on,and thinking of what to have for lunch and looking forward to lie on my couch to watch 'Friends',i saw this construction worker tearing down the playground located in front of clementi market! OH MY GOD!!!!!I was incredibly horrified to see that...As he struck his hammer on the playground,i could vividly hear my heart go *clang*..Next,i looked up and saw all the trees that were planted along that road uprooted, and it felt really well...blank.Everything seemed so bare.I used to grumble at the leaves which stick out and brush against me as i walked by in the past, but now...i kinda miss the greenery that used to be there.
I knew that the new shopping centre was coming to invade my hometown, but i didnt expect the authorities would take action so soon...First,they cleared the fountain in front of macdonald's,now this?Too soon! I cant seem to take this fact easily...shocked shocked and shocked...next,i expect to see my lovely hometown being converted a commercialised central, taking away the beauties of a small "country" like neighbourhood..so wanna cry...*sobs*
that feeling is strong yet fragile...its unexpected..
